AUTOMATIC OR STICK SHIFT !! GREATEST CONFUSION

Hey Guys
Today i am going to discuss about a very famous topic that everyone gets in their mind while buying a car that is whether should i buy an automatic or stick shift (manual to be clear).??. because almost the cost is same of both the automatic as well as that of manual due to implementation of technologies like
1.  AMT/AGS[automatic manual transmission/automatic gear shift] technology.
 2. CVT [ continuous varying transmission or so called rubber band gearbox].
Well they both are competing  well in the INDIAN market as well as all over the globe but personally I like the stick shift because it gives me freedom when to change gears or not and not let computer do it!!
Let me compare these with Manual transmission..!

PRO's:-

MANUAL:-

1.FREEDOM!!

 It gives you freedom when to shift or not , according to engine's specs we can make the car run more effectively for say if an engine has turbo lag then only manual gear shift will help and gives you the booost to your engine and you overtake like no one else.

2.GOOD EFFICIENCY

Well we in manual transmission we have freedom to shift so at particular RPM we can shift according to our need this will provide us good fuel efficiency and will make you happy and will increase your savings too.

3. LESS MAINTENANCE REQUIRED

Everyone wants that the car maintenance should be low in cost and should a car should not always go to mechanic which the manual gearbox excels in . Its parts are cheaper and being less complex hence every mechanic can repair that in low cost as compared to automatic.

4. MORE DRIVING FEEL

As every one is not a car guy hence he/she doesn't care about the driving feel but in real life if you compare automatic and manual , you can easily tell that manual is has more procedure but it gives you ultimate driving experience or pleasure. Also it also improves 0-100 kmph or 0-60 mph because you can improve the timings by better way of shifting.

5. BURNOUTS... EASY JOB FOR THIS THING!!

 If you like to do burnout, donots etc on your car then manual will help you better as it is wholly dependent on you when to provide more torque and go with smoking tyres .

NOW COMING TO AUTOMATIC GEARBOX:-

1. COMFORT LEVEL AT ITS BEST

We know that all the luxurious cars like S-CLASS , 7-SERIES, E-CLASS, XF ,XJ A6, A4 etc comes with automatic gearbox because these cars are made to give you comfort although they come with manual option too but these are perfected for automatic gearbox.

2. F-1 TYPE FEEL

You must be thinking firstly i said that manual gearbox gives driving feel but automatic doesn't , well yes i am correct but there is a feature in automatic gearbox called as 'PEDDLE SHIFTERS' or 'MANUAL MODE' which kind of gives you control like manual transmission and many people like that so that is a kind of hybrid.
NO MORE ADVANTAGES OF AUTOMATIC GEARBOX.

ON THE OTHER HAND COMING TO CONS:-

Let's first start with MANUAL

1. INCONVENIENCE SOMETIMES

It all depends on vehicle to vehicle if the clutch is hard and gearbox is notch-y then it becomes a headache in traffic conditions.

2. UNEVEN RIDE

Well if the person driving doesn't know how to release the clutch then the ride can be bumpy to you and can lead to uneven ride.

3. GEAR STUCKING PROBLEMS:-

Sometimes gear gets stuck that also becomes a major problem and could be sometimes expensive too , but it is because of the driver the person has not pressed the clutch properly.

NOW COMING TO WINNER OF THE CONS MR.AUTOMATIC

1. EXPENSIVE ACTUALLY VERRRYY EXPENSIVE MAINTAINANCE !!

Buying a car is easy job but to maintain it is a completely different process and now coming to automatic gearbox whether it is AMT, AGS , CVT or even DSG too they have a very complex electronics and computer systems embedded in it which overall controls the shifts and if any of the system fails then you are not able to drive the car or it may behave abnormally, also the gear system is also kind of expensive  too.

2. VARIOUS ISSUES RELATED TO IT!!

I can assure you until and unless you are not buying GERMAN, there are many problems related to CVT, AMT Let us begin :-
1. AMT:-
As we know in AMT gearshifts are controlled by computers hence you can feel the shifts therefore you will like the kind of torque it gives on 1st gear but after that the shifts become very slow,  you will think that its convenient but actually its WAY TOO BORING. 
2. CVT :-
Same is the case with CVT as CVT is controlled by a belt hence a "RUBBER BAND EFFECT " comes into play which is worst than AMT because when you are on full throttle you would not feel than car is moving as engine revs moves up but the car not moves and you all will be like " WHAT THE...? ".
BUT in this case DSG is the best.

3. FUEL- GUZZLING:-

As the shifts are not planned and sometimes you directly come from high speed to low then the engine has to work hard and it becomes a fuel guzzler.

NOW COMING TO FINAL CONCLUSION
IF YOU CAN BEAR THE EXPENSES AND WANT COMFORT THEN JUST GO FOR AUTOMATIC BUT IN THAT DSG. AND IF YOU ARE A CAR GUY AND WANT DRIVING FEEL AND LESS MAINTENANCE  JUST GO FOR MANUAL. TILL THEN STAY TUNED.
